The 2019 edition of the annual Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) was held at the University main campus, from Wednesday, 10th to Sunday, 14th April 2019.
The five day event was inclusive of various social activities, cultural performances and beauty pageant competitions. Cultural performances and exhibitions were held for the better part of the first two days .The first pageant event, held on Friday night, was the Mr Flex and Miss Jumbo contest .Samuel Mbeche, a fourth year student took home the crown to controversially retain the Mr. Flex title for the third year in a row. Jelagat Kosgey,a first year Disaster Management student won the hearts of many to win the Miss Jumbo category. Drusline Makokha and Anette Awuor came out as first and second runners up respectively to bring the night to an end.
The main event of the Tamasha, Mr and Miss Mmust pageant competition took place on the evening of Saturday .The large crowd in attendance was kept on their feet by great music vibes from Untamed TV Kenya’s Deejay Ray. Samuel Doe , emerged the winner of the Mr. Mmust category, despite fierce competition from Dennis Muna, who managed the second runners up spot. In the female category, Wairimu Mwangi was on the spotlight for the night, standing out in a field of twelve participants to win the main event.
The final segment of the five day event was a performance by Mejja of the Kansoul. He put up an energetic performance, engaging the crowd fully before the end of the event.
